AIRFRYER BAKING TIMES AND COOKING TIMES

*Scroll down for a searchable table with cooking times for specific dishes*

There are a few things you should keep in mind with oil less frying. Said cooking times are an approximation and may vary per type of Air fryer. So check on your food regularly while preparing how it goes with the product.

In general, the Philips Viva Airfryer has slightly longer cooking times than the Philips Airfryer XL. Note that when food ingredients are lying against each other  in the Air fryer, you have to shake the basket regularly to cover all sides.

Smoke coming out of your Airfryer?

Some people have experience that when they air fry at a temperature of above 180 ° C, their Air fryer releases some smoke. You can easily solve that. If a temperature of 200 ° C is indicated, you can usually opt for a temperature of 180 ° C for which you add some extra preparation time.

Pre-heating your Airfryer

The pre-heating of an Airfryer takes about two minutes. The Philips Viva Airfryer timer button lets you pre-heat by turning the timer knob to five minutes and wait for the warm-up light goes out. Then fill the basket and turn the timer knob to the required cooking time.

With the Philips Airfryer XL and the digital Viva Airfryer you can begin preheating through setting the temperature and press the start button. If the device is heated up to the set temperature, you hear a beep. You can adjust the cooking time after that.

In general, cooking times in the air fryer are reduced by 20% in comparison to traditional ovens. Clearly this varies per brand and the quantity of the food cooked in the air fryer.

Note: All circumstances and temperatures below are under the condition that the prepared food is flipped over during the cooking times or that the basket is shaken to redistribute ingredients a few times.

When you use the Air Fryer to cook raw or frozen chicken, always make sure to check if the chicken pieces are well-done. In some cases you might have to adjust the cooking times upwards for chicken in order to avoid health risks.

Happy Air Frying!
